Inmate Released Day Before She Died, Lancaster Officials Say
A Lancaster County Prison inmate who was rushed to the hospital and released for end-of-life care has died; officials announced her passing on Monday, April 22, 2024.
Deborah F. McClucas, 60 of Willow Street, was found unresponsive in her prison cell at approximately 8:24 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, according to a release by Lancaster County Officials.
After the prison staff called 911, city firefighters and EMS took her to Lancaster General Health Penn Medicine.

PA Teen Sentenced Up To Life In Prison For Killing 23-Year-Old Man When He Was 14 Years Old
Elijahuwon A. Brown, now 17, has been sentenced after pleading guilty last October to shooting and killing 23-year-old Rolando Rivera when he was only 14 years old, according to court documents and the Lancaster District Attorney's office on Monday, April 22, 2024.
Brown confessed to shooting Rolando "Peanut" Nazir Rivera, 23, of the 200 block of Ruby Street in Lancaster, in the 500 block of Third Street around 9:45 p.m. on August 27, 2021.
On Friday, April 19 he was sentenced to 32 ½ years to life in prison by Judge Merrill Spahn.

Pennsylvania BMW Driver, 30, Struck, Killed After Crash Along NJ Turnpike
A 30-year-old Pennsylvania man standing along the side of the New Jersey Turnpike after a collision was struck and killed by a passing car early Monday, April 22, authorities said.
Alton Smith, of Levittown, PA, had bee driving a BMW 328i when he got into a crash with another BMW around 2:20 a.m. in Robbinsville, New Jersey State Police said.
Smith was standing outside of his vehicle on the southbound side of the highway near milepost 64.1 on the inner roadway, when a passing Hyundai struck him and the back of his car, police said.
