Greenwich's Meghan Lynch Tops U.S. Swimming Charts

GREENWICH, Conn. – Meghan Lynch of the Greenwich YWCA Dolphins finished the indoor swimming season as the top swimmer in several events in the 9-year-old age group.

Lynch, a Greenwich resident, owned the top times in 25-yard pools in the 100 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and 100 individual medley. She also had the second best times in the nation in the 200 free, 50 breaststroke and 200 individual medley. She was in the top 10 in the 50 free and 500 free.

Lynch finished among the top eight at the Tom Dolan Holiday Invitational at the University of Maryland in December, one of the most prestigious events of the year.

She claimed USA Swimming’s Eastern Zone IMX Challenge 9-year-old title in February, finishing in the top three in six events. She also won 12 medals combined at the Connecticut State Age Group Championships and the Speedo USA Swimming Eastern Zone Championships in March.
