The Children’s Court Care Center is staffed by volunteers from The National Council of Jewish Women, as well as two full-time court employees. Children as young as a few weeks old up to age 10 are welcome. Older children also can be accommodated by request.

The center opened in 1998 as the first of its kind in New Jersey. It closed after damage by Hurricane Sandy and reopened in May 2013. The center has colorful children’s art work covering the walls, an enormous variety of toys to play with and even strollers and a changing table to handle toddlers and infants.

The center receives ongoing financial support from the Bergen Bar Association and Women Lawyers in Bergen. The National Council of Jewish Women is a grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates who turn progressive ideals into action.
