Police response to Albin Road in the Cove section of the city just before 5 a.m. after a neighbor reported seeing two men in a Honda Ridgeline acting suspiciously in the neighborhood.

The neighbor saw the two as they exited their vehicle and made entry into her neighbor’s garage and then into her house, Lt. Michael A. Noto said.

The witness immediately called 911 and provided vital information to responding units. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the homeowners who had no idea that two had entered their home.

Evidence was gathered that the suspects fled the house from the back of the home and went over a fence in the rear of the property.

After an exhaustive search, officer Michael Dube spotted one of the suspects on Dora Street. The suspect ran from Dube, going through backyards and over fences in the neighborhood, Noto said.

Sgt. Rhett Connelly organized a detailed search and after chasing the suspect several times the suspect, 18-year-old Emory Jean-Louis of Stamford, was eventually apprehended in the rear of a property on Weed Avenue. The suspect’s vehicle was located on Albin Road and that vehicle had been reported stolen out of Ansonia.

Jean-Louis was charged with burglary, larceny, criminal conspiracy and interfering. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 28 and is being held on a $100,000.00 bond.

Police have not identified the second suspect. Anyone with information is requested to please contact the Stamford Police Department.

"The Stamford Police Department is extremely proud of the officers involved in this matter," Noto said. "We understand it may have been a bit surprising for those in the Cove Area to wake up and see the Stamford Police running through their backyard, but we were not letting this guy get away.

"We would like to recognize the reporting neighbor in this case. It was her observations and instinct that made this entire capture possible and allowed us to take another predator off the street.

"If you should observe any suspicious activity in your neighborhood please do not hesitate to call."
