Surprise Snake Doesn't Stop Norwalk Police Officers

Police officers are used to all kinds of emergency calls, but one call Thursday stopped them in their tracks, though only for a moment.

Officers found a person in need of medical care with a large boa constrictor around their neck and shoulders.

Norwalk police responded to a call in East Norwalk to find a person in need of medical care with a large boa constrictor around their neck and shoulders, said Norwalk Lt. Terry Blake.

But the snake wasn't the problem.

"The snake was the pet of a person having a medical issue on a street in East Norwalk last night," Blake said.

Blake said the snake was turned over to a friend for safe-keeping when the person was transported to the hospital, he added.
