Police Nab Man With $14K In Fraudulently Purchased Cell Phones In Greenwich

A man was nabbed by Greenwich Police for receiving more than $14,000 in fraudulent cell phones.

Derick Dimson, 28, of Newark was arrested Tuesday after Greenwich Police received information that Dimson would be arriving in town to pick up a package delivered by UPS containing the phones that had been purchased fraudulently, police said.

Officers staked out the address and watched as Dimson arrived at the arranged address and picked up the package, police said. 

A search of his vehicle turned up additional phones obtained by fraudulent means with a total value of $14,888.92.

He was charged with larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny and is being held on $25,000 bond.
