ID Released For Man Killed After Falling Through Skylight Hole On Roof In Stamford

A Stamford man who was killed after falling through a hole for a skylight while working on the roof of an area building has been identified.

Jacek Pilchowski, 59, fell more than 30 feet onto a concrete floor while replacing skylights on the roof of the Stamford Windustrial Company, said Stamford Police Capt. Tom Barcello.

The incident took place around 1:34 p.m. Wednesday at 55 Sunnyside Ave., after the employee misstepped and fell through the opening, said Stamford Fire Deputy Chief Eric Lorenz.

The man received critical head injuries, as well as other injuries, Lorenz said.

Pilchowski was taken to Stamford Hospital where he died. 

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident.
