Breaking News: One Killed, Two Injured In I-684 Three-Vehicle Crash

Tiff Turns Ugly; Couple Arrested

A Greenwich couple were arrested early Monday after a fight at their Wilbur Peck Court home turned violent. The 23-year old man said his wife, also 23, cut his chest with a kitchen knife during the argument. The wife said he had hit her on the head and cut off the end of her braid. Officers did not indicate which action occurred first. They were both arrested for disorderly conduct, and the woman was also charged with assault in the second degree. She was held on a $1,000 bond and was due in court Monday. The man was released on a promise to appear in court later Monday.

Also from the police blotter:

• A father and son argument resulted in police officers Tasering the younger man. Matthew J. Mead, 25, of 37 Orchard St. in Cos Cob was arrested Friday after he and his father argued whether Mead was too intoxicated to drive. When officers arrived, Mead left the scene toward Cos Cob School. Police learned that Mead had damaged his car by driving it into a bush on the property and then used a board to break a passenger side window. When Mead returned, police said, he was hostile and had to be Tasered. He was arrested on charges of criminal mischief in the third degree, interfering with an officer and breach of the peace. He was issued a misdemeanor summons to appear in court Monday.

• At Port Chester man who caused a disturbance at Greenwich Hospital Saturday was arrested on charges of breach of the peace and criminal mischief in the third degree. Anthony Hill, 27, of 10 Parker St. had been asked to leave the hospital after being cleared by the medical staff. He reportedly became angry and, while screaming profanities, punched and shattered a display sign in the hospital lobby. Police arrested Hill on West Putnam Ave. He was released on a $250 bond and set to appear in court on Oct. 4.
