Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Motor Vehicle On King Street In Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. -- A pedestrian was struck and killed by a motor vehicle on King Street on Tuesday morning, the Greenwich Police Department announced via Twitter.

King Street/Route 120A is closed in the area at Anderson Hill Road and Stonehedge Drive North, police said. Detours are set up, and officers are in directing traffic and investigating in the area. 

The accident occurred at about 7 a.m. near the New York border. 

Police said it would be an "extended" road closure as the investigation continues. 

Police are expected to release more details on the fatal accident later Tuesday morning.
