Metro-North Warns Of Train Delays, Platform Changes After Derailment

GREENWICH, Conn. — Customers who catch their trains at stations in Greenwich should be braced for changes and delays on Friday, Metro-North announced.

Because of track damage in the vicinity of Rye after a minor derailment Thursday afternoon, customers traveling between Stamford and Rye to Grand Central must use the outbound — to New Haven — platform. 

Customers traveling to New Haven will need to use the inbound (to Grand Central) platform. 

Delays of 10 to 15 minutes are also possible through the area. 

No injuries occurred in the derailment Thursday, which occurred on a "slow-moving" train, Metro-North said. Workers were on the scene overnight to make repairs, and the work continues Friday, Metro-North said.
