GREENWICH, Conn. — Hope Hicks, a 2006 graduate of Greenwich High school and a close confidante of President Donald Trump, is now officially the new communications director at the White House, according to USA Today.

No official announcement has been made on the 28-year-old, who has been serving on an interim basis in the role since mid-August.

She took over the interim job in August after the tumultuous tenure of Anthony Scaramucci, who was fired after just 10 days on the job.

Hicks had previously been strategic communications director at the White House.

In her new role, Hicks will work closely with White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Hicks, 28, has been in the spotlight since serving as Trump's press secretary during the presidential campaign.

A former teen model for Ralph Lauren, Hicks has garnered much attention, with profiles in the New York Times, The Washington Post, GQ,  Town and Country and a host of other national publications.

She was co-captain of the lacrosse team at Greenwich High and played lacrosse all four years at the club level at Southern Methodist University.

After college, Hicks worked at Hiltzik Strategies, a big public relations firm that represents Hollywood clients and corporate executives. She then went to work for Ivanka Trump, the president's daughter, and her luxury jewelry lines and Trump's real estate holdings. She was asked to join the campaign staff in early 2015.

Her father and grandfather also worked in public relations. Paul B. Hicks III was the right-hand man of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, and also worked as the CEO for Ogilvy Public Relations as their U.S. lead. Her late grandfather, Paul Hicks, was a vice president and general manager of public relations for Texaco.

Trump's previous communications directors were Sean Spicer, Mike Dubke, then Spicer again in an "acting" role and then Scaramucci.
