Junior League Of Greenwich Seeks Applicants For Community Service Award

GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Junior League of Greenwich is on the lookout for local female high school seniors who have demonstrated leadership and community service to receive its Community Service Award of up to $2,500 in the spring.

The JLG is currently accepting applications from applicants who exemplify the mission of the Junior League of Greenwich and whose volunteer activities show a significant and sustained commitment to both community service and leadership.

Applications are due on March 11. You can find it here.

Last year's recipient, Izabela Horzempa, stood out for her significant and sustained community service and leadership, but also for her fulfillment of the JLG's mission of developing the potential of women. She was a member of the National Honor Society, as well as a national gold medalist and a state silver medalist for her ceramics artwork. She also raised a record amount of money as homecoming chair.

Horzempa attends Fairfield University and used the Community Award to help fund her college tuition.
