Snow Could Hit Greenwich Today Ahead Of Slightly Warmer Week

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Some snow and sleet could hit Fairfield County Monday afternoon and evening ahead of a week that will be slightly warmer than last week.

Light wintry precipitation is expected to hit in the afternoon, with a 50 percent chance of snow predicted after 3 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Along the coast, a wintry mix of snow, sleet and possibly freezing rain will hit, while inland locations will most likely be hit by snow. About half an inch of snow is expected.

The high on Monday will be near 28, with wind chill values between 10 and 15. Snow is expected to end by 10 p.m. Monday night, when the low will be around 25. Wind chill values Monday night will be between 15 and 20.

Dry weather returns on Tuesday, which will be mostly sunny, with a high near 40. Wind chill values will be between 15 and 25. There will be a northwest wind between 7 and 11 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Tuesday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 17.

Wednesday is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 36. There will be a calm wind, becoming a south wind around 6 mph in the afternoon. Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 35.

It will be mostly cloudy on Thursday, when the high will be near 46. Rain is likely on Thursday night, mainly after midnight. There will also be areas of fog after midnight. Otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 41.

Rain is likely on Friday, as are areas of fog. It will otherwise be cloudy with a high near 51. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent. Rain and fog will continue into Friday night, when the low will be around 41.
