Expect Rain, Cool Temps Over The Next Few Days In Greenwich

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Fairfield County residents can expect rain to continue through tomorrow morning, with some flooding possible for the southern parts of the county Tuesday night.

Periods of rain are expected Tuesday, with rainfall intensity increasing this afternoon into tonight, according to the National Weather Service. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent. The high will be near 53, with an east wind of around 15 mph. Up to a half-inch of rain is possible.

Rain will continue into Tuesday night, when patchy fog is expected after midnight. A coastal flood advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. Tuesday through 1 a.m. Wednesday for the coastal areas in the southern portion of Fairfield County. There may be some flooding of the most vulnerable shore roads and some basements, but the majority of roads are expected to be passable. There is no expected threat to life, and any impact on property will be minimal.

Wednesday will see rain, likely before noon, followed by a chance of light rain in the afternoon. Patchy fog is also expected in the morning. Otherwise, the day will be cloudy, with a high near 63. The chance of precipitation is 70 percent. Rain should taper off by Wednesday night, when there is only a 20 percent chance of rain. The night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 53.

Thursday should be pleasant, as it is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 68. There will be light and variable wind. Thursday night is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 55.

Clouds will be back on Friday, which will have a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before noon. Some of the storms could be severe. Otherwise the rest of the day will be partly sunny, with a high near 72. Friday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 55.
