Racial profiling should be a useful tool to solve crimes, instead the group that commits the most crimes now has an effect tool to undermine police work.
If a certain trait correlates with a certain behavior, that should be a helpful guide. That does NOT mean it is the only basis, but it should be helpful.
If 6' white women committed the most shoplifting, then it makes sense to keep a closer eye one them. Only an idiot would not, and only an idiot would not look at others as well. It is a tool, an input, it is not the sole basis. View Comment
And as usual police in no hurry to open lanes for public. They should bulldoze that p.o.s. to the side and get things moving, not creat a huge buffer zone for themselves. Ans PLEASE do not start with that officer safety crap. View Comment
1. Title is misleading. Darien residents are for the tower, a vocal minority, primarily abutters, are the few that are opposed to the tower.
2. The selectman should NOT write any such letter. When acting as the selectman Ms. Stevenson should represent the town of Darien and not a few friend. View Comment
I am disappointed that our governing body chooses to be swayed by a few again. This poorly planned town seems to consistently make choices for a few against the good of the majority.
No pool at high school for swim team.
No pool at weed beach or cherry lawn for e residents.
New $15MM police station, not needed.
Board of Ed in a space 3x the size as needed.
No lights on football field.
And on and on.
Now here we go again with the cell tower. At least the town does not have much say in this one and it costs us nothing.

The take away I get from this incident and many past incidents it that none of the local towns need these boats and the added crew. They are town sponsored pleasure craft for our entitled class. View Comment
