Another way to help: since many of the kids must be traumatized, you can brighten their day and let them know there are good people in this world by sending a toy to them this holiday season through a Sandy Hook toy store.
The Toy Tree
115A Church Hill Rd
Sandy Hook, CT 06482
203-270-8697
They are donating 20% of all Toy Tree sales to the families and collecting new toys for the children of Sandy Hook school. You can send a check or call the store w/a credit card. They are working with a local not for profit to make sure that 100% of all donations are given directly to the families of the victims.

how about a long term investment plan of underground wires? these outages cost the utility company a lot of money which should be an incentive for them to consider other ideas. I'm sure it's costly to put them in, but start with the streets where there are substations and transformers and then do a few more streets per year. The cost saved on outages and on trimming trees, etc. has to add up eventually plus the goodwill with fewer outages wouldn't hurt. View Comment
