Numerous Crashes Reported On Slick Area Roadways

Motorists in Fairfield County are already feeling the effects of the Nor'easter as downed trees have forced the closure of several major roadways.

The Wilton Police Department announced that a tree is also down by Route 7, near Ridgefield Road. Officers and State Police are currently on scene. A crash also temporarily tied up traffic on I-95.

Police in Stamford reported that Vine Street is closed, also for a downed tree, near the intersection of Newfield Avenue. Delays were also announced on Rapids Road and Riverbank Road, where there were reports of a power outage involving downed power lines.

The Connecticut State Department of Transportation announced that a downed tree has closed part of southbound Route 15, while the Wilbur Cross Parkway is closed between exits 62 and 61 in Hamden. The closures were reported shortly after 9:35 a.m.
