Patient Accused Of Assaulting Staffer At Greenwich Hospital A Fairfield County man was arrested for allegedly attacking an area hospital employee and making threats. Brian Dougherty, age 51, of Stamford, was arrested around 3:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 30, after Greenwich Police Officers responded to Greenwich Hospital, authorities said. Dougherty assaulted a member of the hospital staff and made threats, said Greenwich PD Capt. Mark E. Zuccerella. He was charged with assaulting a public health worker, threatening, and disorderly conduct. Dougherty was held on a $10,000 bond which he was unable to post.

Man, 21, Pronounced Dead In Greenwich After Apparent Accidental Drowning A 21-year-old man died after what authorities say appears to be an accidental drowning. The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was found around 7:15 p.m. Friday, June 12 in Westchester near Rye Playland and the Edith Read Sanctuary. EMS personnel performed CPR on the man at the scene. He was pronounced dead at Greenwich Hospital. Signs posted in the area say that swimming, fishing and kayaking are not permitted. Fire Reported At Greenwich Hospital, Officials Say A fire has been reported at an area hospital treating many with patients with novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The blaze began around 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, at Greenwich Hospital, the Greenwich Fire Department said on Twitter. The fire was reported in a generator area and involved some debris in a shaftway, the department said. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within minutes, officials said on Twitter. Justin Quagliani, 38, died around 5 a.m., after suffering a medical emergency at his Greenwich residence while off-duty, said the Greenwich Police Department.
