Parental Abduction: Woman Caught In Stolen Car In Lodi With Child Taken From Bogota: Prosecutor
A Jersey City woman was nabbed in a stolen car in Lodi after abducting her child a day earlier from a home in nearby Bogota, authorities said.
Jahlea Jones, 28, was charged with child endangerment, interfering with custody, contempt of court and receiving stolen property, among other offenses, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
Jones had taken the child on Wednesday, April 24, knowing that she was not privileged to do so," the prosecutor said.

Bayonne Man, 38, Charged With Sexually Assaulting Four Underage Girls
A 38-year-old Bayonne man was charged with sexually assaulting four underage girls.
Anthony Lashley, 38, assaulted the teens “on multiple occasions between 2017 and 2024 in Jersey City and Bayonne,” Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said on Tuesday, April 16.
All four were under 18 at the time, the prosecutor said.
Authorities arrested Lashley this past Feb. 22 in connection with two alleged victims, Suarez said.
An investigation turned up two more, she said, for which he was charged on April 9.
Suarez didn’t say why she waited a week to announce it.

Jersey City Triple Shooting: One Dead, Two Wounded, Gunmen Flee
A man was shot and killed and two other people wounded in the Heights section of Jersey City, authorities confirmed.
Witnesses reported seeing two gunmen flee east on Bowers Street following the shooting on Central Avenue around 9 p.m. Sunday, April 7.
Freddie Posey, 25, of Jersey City, was pronounced dead shortly after 9:30 p.m. at Jersey City Medical Center, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.

Hoboken Man Charged With Murder In McGinley Square Triple Shooting
UPDATE: A Hoboken man was charged with murder and aggravated assault in a triple shooting in Jersey City earlier this month.
Authorities confirmed on Wednesday, March 27, that Joseph Del Valle, 36, was arrested by members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit the day before.
