New Greenwich Club Helps Train Triathletes

GREENWICH, Conn. – Steve Kurczewski and his team at Elite Health Services in Greenwich are taking the next step toward helping triathletes reach their goals.

Kurczewski, who co-founded the Greenwich Triathlon Club with Jon Stellwagen, is holding a grand opening for his new venture, EHS Tri, on Thursday, May 19, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The new business will offer triathletes state-of-the-art facilities, eight-rider Computrainer cycling studio, Alter-G anti-gravity treadmill running, personal coaching and physical therapy.

Greenwich Triathlon Club, which began in 2009, includes more than 130 athletes. It has become incorporated with EHS Tri to offer more benefits to members. Kurczewski said GTC is more social and geared for beginning triathletes, while EHS Tri is committed to improving performance.

“We wanted a supportive environment for people achieve their personal best,’’ Kurczewski said. “GTC has a lot of common principles with EHS Tri. GTC is more like an entry level program, and EHS Tri will be more dedicated to improving performance.”

Clare Zecher, a USA Triathlon certified coach, joins Kurczewski and Stellwagen on the coaching staff for EHS Tri. Zecher has been competing in triathlons for more than 20 years and helped to start the Wilton YMCA triathlon program.

The grand opening is free and open to triathletes in Fairfield and Westchester. Attendees will enjoy refreshments, the opportunity to win a one-month personal coaching plan with two performance evaluations, a free entry into the Stamford KIC It Triathlon and many more giveaways from local partners.
