The Greenwich women are part of a huge Fairfield County contingent on the Virginia roster. Other women from Fairfield County on the roster of the national champions include Wilton’s Molly Frear, Darien’s Emily Pik, Paige Terry of Greenwich, Weston’s Brittany Wengel and Westport’s Lizzy Youngling. Betsy and Mary Nilan, from Milford, are former rowers for Connecticut Boat Club coach Liz Trond. Frear earned honors as a College Rowing Coaches Association scholar athlete.
