GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Greenwich Swim Committee will hold its annual Island Beach Two-Mile Swim on Aug. 3 at 8:30 a.m.
The event is sponsored by the Town of Greenwich and the Greenwich Swim Committee.
Swimmers are asked report to Greenwich Harbor at 6:45 a.m. for registration. The Island Beach Ferry will leave promptly at 7:30 a.m. The race course will be marked by buoys and protected by boats.
The entry fee is $75 and deck entries are permitted. All entrants must be 18 years of age or older.
Wetsuits are allowed, but swimmers wearing wetsuits will be ineligible for awards. Swim caps will be provided and must be worn.
Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each five year age group and to the top three overall swimmers.
Volunteer boats are needed to help protect the race course. Contact race director Jon Harnett at 203-253-2546 for additional information about the event.
