GREENWICH, Conn. -- Close to 300 swimmers hopped into the Greenwich High School Pool on Saturday for the 15th Annual Greenwich Town Swim Championships.

Hosted by the YWCA of Greenwich Dolphins Swim Team, the event also featured the YMCA of Greenwich Marlins, the Sharks Swim Team and the Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich Barracudas competing in 48 events.

Greenwich Dolphins Kate Hazlett, 15, broke the 2009 meet mark held by Morgan Karetnick in the 15-and over 100-yard backstroke, setting a new record of 59.77. She also lowered her own mark in the 200-yard butterfly to 2:11.69 and won in the 15-an-over 100-free at 55.60 and 100-yard butterfly 1:00.49.

Meghan Lynch, 12, also a Greenwich Dolphin, set records for the 11-12 year olds' 50-yard free at 25.37 and 50-breast at 31.59, besting her own marks set in last year's event. She also won gold in the 11-12-year old 50-butterfly at 28.10 and in the 9-and-over girls 500-yard freestyle at 5:15.15.

The Dolphins' Thomas Mackey, 17, set a new meet record of 1:03.47 in the 15-and-over 100-yard breaststroke for the final meet mark.
