Greenwich Showcases Offense in Football Tourney

GREENWICH, Conn. — The high school football season is a little more than two months away, but the Greenwich offense was in full swing Saturday. The Cardinals participated in the third annual Grip It and Rip It 7-on-7 tournament, hosted by New Canaan High School.

After splitting time with Dan Lombardi last season, Liam O'Neil is poised to be the full-time quarterback for Greenwich this season. Greenwich defeated Cheshire Academy in the first round but fell to Stamford in the tournament quarterfinals, 21-13.

The teams at the tournament included New Canaan, Stamford, Norwalk, Fairfield Warde, Bridgeport Central, Masuk, Cheshire, Brookfield, Bloomfield, Newtown, Weston, Canterbury, Cheshire Academy, Iona, Mamaroneck, North Rockland, Rye, Scarsdale, Stepinac and White Plains.
