GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich's Cam Atkinson, an All-Star hockey player with the Columbus Blue Jackets, was recently profiled in a recent article in Sports Illustrated.
Atkinson made his first All-Star team this winter for the Blue Jackets. He joined the NHL team in 2012 and has 26 goals and 22 assists. He will almost certainly eclipse his career highs of 27 goals and 26 assists, both of which he set last season. Atkinson scored a goal in Tuesday's 3-2 victory for the Blue Jackets over Detroit. He is among the NHL leaders in goals scored, and is the team's leading scorer.
In the SI article, writer Alex Prewitt focuses on Atkinson's stature as one of the smallest players in the league. Atkinson, 5-feet, 8-inches and 182 pounds, has nonetheless proved he belongs in the league and has become one of the NHL's most dangerous scorers.
