Greenwich Football Players Earn Conference Honors

GREENWICH, Conn. — After a tremendous turnaround season in which the Greenwich High football team made it to the conference finals, the Cardinals are being rewarded for their efforts. The Fairfield Interscholastic Athletic Conference named seven Greenwich players to its all-conference first team.

Greenwich went 9-2 this season versus a tough 5-5 campaign the year before. The Cardinals came within a minute of winning the conference championship , but were bested by Staples High of Westport.

Running back Mike Daly, wide receiver Joel Arroyo and offensive lineman Nick Pennella earned West Division first-team honors. Defensive lineman Will Trepp, linebackers Shane Nastahowski and Kyle Camacho and kicker Jesse Adelberg were named to the West Division defensive first team.

Wide receiver Ryan Kelly and offensive lineman Jackson Dell'Abate were named to the second-team offense. Defensive linemen Alex McGhee and Patrick Callahan and defensive backs Taylor Olmstead and Alex McMurray were placed on the second-team defense.
