Greenwich Cup Events Begin With Tod's Point Race

GREENWICH, Conn. – The Volvo of Stamford Greenwich Cup series of 10 races begins April 15 with the B*Cured Point Perspective at Tod’s Point in Old Greenwich.

B*Cured, which steps off at 9 a.m. with the first race, includes a 5-kilometer (3.1 miles) cross country run and a Kids Half Mile race. The fee is $15 pre-entry and $20 on the day of the race for the 5K, and $10 pre-entry and $15 day of the race for the Kids Half Mile. Proceeds go to B*Cured, a Greenwich-based organization funding investigative research to cure brain cancer.

The second event of the series is the Volvo of Stamford Greenwich Cup Biathlon at 7 a.m. on May 6 at Tod’s Point. The biathlon begins with a 2.5-mile run, followed by a 10-mile bicycle ride and another 2.5 mile run. The fee is $45 pre-entry and $55 on the day of the race.

The other eight events in the series are the Jim Fixx Memorial Day Run at 8:15 a.m. on May 28, the Whole Foods Cook Your Buns Run and barbecue at 6:30 p.m. on June 8, the Greenwich Point Swim at 7:30 a.m. on July 14, the Volvo of Stamford Greenwich Cup Triathlon at 6:30 a.m. on July 29, the Volvo of Stamford Tour de Greenwich XXVIII at 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 16, Susannah’s Run at 9 a.m. on Oct. 14, the Beachfront Bushwhack/Max’s Mile at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 11, and the Jingle Bell Jog at 9 a.m. on Dec. 9.
