WESTPORT, Conn. Sean Obi tied a school record with 37 points as the Greens Farms Academy boys basketball team won its 14th straight game Wednesday with a 70-64 victory over Christian Heritage, 70-64.
The Dragons improved to 17-3 overall. Obi added 20 rebounds, five assists and five steals, while Matt Tate had eight points and seven assists. Brien Comey contributed six points and 11 rebounds.
Obis big night overshadowed a terrific defensive performance by Greens Farms in holding high-scoring Christian Heritage (11-13) well under it season average. Dariens Pat Ryan limited Bryan Jones (22.8 points per game) to five field goals and 15 points. Tate played the entire game and Hunter Eggers labored through an injury to contribute nine points and four assists.
The foundation of this streak is a terrific commitment to team defense, game in and game out, coach Doug Scott said.
Greens Farms hosts Kingswood-Oxford on Friday. The Fairchester Athletic Association tournament begins Feb. 22.
