Greens Farms Takes Win Streak Into League Playoffs

WESTPORT, Conn. – Greens Farms Academy of Westport will take its 15-game winning streak into the Fairchester Athletic Association tournament as the No. 2 seed when it meets King of Stamford in the first round Wednesday.

The Dragons finished the regular season 18-3 overall and 11-3 in the league. Hamden Hall earned the No. 1 seed with a 12-2 league mark.

King (7-15 overall, 3-11 league) finished the season as the No. 7 seed. Greens Farms defeated King twice in the regular season, including a 77-61 decision on Feb. 15. Wednesday’s game tips off at 4:30 p.m. in Westport.

Other first-round matchups on Wednesday include No. 1 Hamden Hall against No. 8 St. Luke’s at 4:30 p.m. in Hamden. No. 4 Master hosts No. 5 Hopkins and No. 6 Brunswick travels to meet No. 3 Rye Country Day.

The semifinals are scheduled for Friday at the higher seed. The championship game is scheduled for Saturday.

Greens Farms last lost on Jan. 5 to Rye Country Day, 58-48. The Dragons are led by junior center Sean Obi, who has reached double figures in points and rebounds in 43 straight games. He is averaging 19.0 points and 20.7 rebounds per game this season.
