Greenwich's Obi Leads Team Into Tourney

WESTPORT, Conn. – Greens Farms Academy earned the No. 4 seed for the New England Prep School Athletic Conference Class C boys basketball tournament and will meet No. 5 Hyde School of Connecticut in Wednesday’s first round in Westport. Tipoff is 3:45 p.m.

Greens Farms (18-4) defeated Hyde, 56-53, on Feb. 8 in Woodstock, Conn. The Dragons had their school-record 15-game winning streak snapped by King of Stamford in the first round of the Fairchester Athletic Association tournament. Hamden Hall, which won the league tournament, earned the No. 1 seed in the New England tournament.

Greens Farms is led by junior center Sean Obi, of Greenwich, who is averaging 18.5 points and 20.2 rebounds per game. Greenwich’s Hunter Eggers is the team’s second leading scorer with 12.3 points a game and Westport’s Brien Comey is averaging nine. Seventh-grader Tremont Waters is averaging 9.8 points and Greenwich's Matt Tate is averaging 7.4 assists per game.
