Greenwich Grad Scores In Manhattanville Field Hockey Win

PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Julia Esposito chose an opportune time to score her first college field hockey goal.

The Manhattanville College junior and Greenwich High graduate scored with 46 seconds remaining in regulation forcing overtime Sunday. Manhattanville then went on to a 3-2 overtime win over St. Lawrence in the William Smith Field Hockey Classic in Geneva, N.Y.

Esposito, who starts on defense, netted her goal on a penalty corner. She received the insert pass and ripped a drive that deflected in off of a St. Lawrence player.

Amanda DeChent scored the winning goal eight minutes into overtime. It was her 10th of the season.
