FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – The Bridgeport Bluefish could be taking on Roger Clemens on Saturday, according to a report by ESPN.com Monday.

Clemens, 50, signed with the Sugar Land Skeeters of Texas on Monday. The Skeeters and Bluefish play in the Atlantic League, an independent minor league organization.

The Bluefish play the Skeeters this weekend in Texas. Clemens is expected to start Saturday.

Clemens, a native of Texas, was acquitted in June of charges he lied to Congress when he denied using performance-enhancing drugs. Clemens had a 24-year career in the Major Leagues, where he compiled 354 wins. He pitched for the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays and Houston Astros and is a seven-time Cy Young award winner. He also pitched for two World Series champions.

His accomplishments became tainted when former trainer Brian McNamee alleged Clemens used anabolic steroids late in his career. Clemens has repeatedly denied those allegations.
