Athletes Training At Greenwich YMCA Qualify For Ironman World Event

GREENWICH, Conn. – Eight athletes who have been training together qualified, and six plan to complete in the Greenwich YMCA for the Ironman World Championship on Saturday, Oct. 11, in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.

Those who have been training together, with the support and help of the YMCA of Greenwich, include Mitch West, Mike Christie, Tara Kupersmith, Stephen Redwood, Anja Krieger-Redwood, Bruce Cook, John Wilson and Peter Mullen. 

The Ironman World Championship includes a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and full 26.2-mile marathon run.
