Stepinac worked with EduOne to place the transfer students in the school.

“Based on the positive impact our academic programs have had for our previous international students who were from Korea, EduOne requested to work with us again this year with a similar program for students from China,” Stepinac President Father Tom Collins said in a statemetn. “We look forward to expanding the Stepinac experience to this new group of visiting students. This is an enrichment opportunity for our entire student body, as well as our faculty and staff.”

In conjunction with the program, Father Collins visited China earlier this summer and met with the students’ families to discuss details about the program.

The visiting students will be fully integrated members of the Stepinac community and involved in all aspects of school life. On weekends, they will visit museums and other relevant destinations in Westchester and New York City. They will also visit a number of colleges in the area.

The Stepinac students will reside at the YMCA in White Plains, where they will be mentored by professional staff. A Stepinac staff member, who is fluent in Mandarin and has lived in China, will serve as liaison to the students.

“Stepinac is a diverse community and this is a great opportunity to broaden the educational experience of all of the students,” Father Collins added in the statement. “We take pride in assisting international students with their educational success and are pleased to continue our partnership with EduOne to help us expand these efforts.”
