U.S. News Ranks Greenwich High 21st In Connecticut

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Greenwich High School is ranked 21st in a list of Connecticut's top-performing public high schools, according to an annual study conducted by U.S. News & World Report and the American Institutes for Research.

The schools were ranked based on four criteria, including student-to-teacher ration, college preparedness, math proficiency and reading proficiency.

Greenwich received a silver medal rating in the study and is the 810th ranked school in the nation.

Greenwich High received a college readiness index of 36.6 based on 40-percent participation in Advanced Placement courses and 35-percent of total students passing the AP exams. The school also received a 4.0 math proficiency rating and a 3.9 reading proficiency rating (out of 5.0).

2. Conard High School, West Hartford

3. Weston High School

3. Ridgefield High School

5. Farmington High School

6. Wilton High School

7. Staples High School, Westport

8. William H. Hall High School, West Hartford

9. Joel Barlow High School, Easton

10. Connecticut International Baccalaureate Academy, East Hartford

The top ranked high school in the country was the School for the Talented and Gifted in Dallas.
