Seven Greenwich Academy Girls Named National Merit Semifinalists

GREENWICH, Conn. – Seven Greenwich Academy seniors recently were named semifinalists in the 60th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

Sarah Better, Rebecca Dolan, Sarah Frauen, Olivia Hartwell, Hannah Hu, Katrina Kraus and Caroline Zhao qualified as semifinalists by scoring in the top one percent of the preliminary SAT administered last spring.

“Their accomplishments represent signature values of Greenwich Academy—developing confident girls and young women who appreciate the value of hard work in the pursuit of excellence," said Head of School Molly King in a press release.

Each of the semifinalists must complete an extensive application to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship finals.

Nationwide, 16,000 high school seniors were named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists.

The program plans to award 7,600 scholarships worth more than $33 million.
