Greenwich High School PTA leader Lauren Rabin has received a volunteerism award from the PTA.
Rabin is the current Greenwich High School PTA co-president. The PTA Council's Essence Award for Excellence in Volunteerism was presented to Rabin on May 31 at the councils annual dinner. It honors individuals who work tirelessly and admirably to better the district, whether in a position of leadership or as a member of a team.
Rabin has been active in the PTA for 14 years, volunteering at all three of the schools her two sons attended. In her current position, she helped lead the charge for approval of the school's Music Instruction Space and Auditorium Project.
Rabin also served as president, treasurer, secretary and vice president/fundraising at New Lebanon School; treasurer at Western Middle School and PTA Council co-chair of technology, treasurer. She also produced the PTA Council directory for five years. Rabin, who also holds a full-time job, said she believes there is a need to offer working parents opportunities to get involved.
Nominations came from Parent Teacher Association executive boards, principals and the high school administration. The following individuals were also honored:
