The Minds in Motion program is a "fast-paced, interactive, hands-on workshop" for children from prekindergarten to sixth grade, according to a press release from the school. The program is the Connecticut Association for the Gifted's "signature student enrichment program" and "provides children opportunities to explore areas of interest that are rarely part of the everyday classroom," according to the release.

"Student workshops range from ecology to global language, art and music to writing and book publishing, with titles like Build a Waterfall House, SCRATCH Computer Programming, Mandarin Chinese: Language & Culture, and It’s Alive! Life in a Vernal Pond," representatives said in the release. "Adults can network with other parents, collect free literature, and attend Discovering and Developing Your Child’s Gifts panel discussion. Workshops include Simple Steps to Avoid Environmental Toxins, Healthy Nutrition for the Whole Family, Modern Manners and Social Media Savvy for Kids and Spiritual Lives of Children."

Residents can register and see the full program at the Connecticut Association of the Gifted's website. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
