GREENWICH, Conn. – A panel of female Olympic coaches and players will be part of the “Young Women in Sport” event Sunday in Greenwich.
College coaches will also be participating in the panel discussion.
The forum is designed to inspire young women athletes who are attending middle or high school, according to a press release.
The following coaches and athletes are scheduled to speak.
- Whit Hagerman, assistant coach of women’s lacrosse at Dartmouth College and a former lacrosse player at the University of Virginia;
- Mel McLaughlin, NCAA women’s swimming coach at Wellesley College and men’s and women’s swimming coach at Middlebury College;
- Jamie Phinney, player for Olympic Team USA in women’s ice hockey, women’s ice hockey coach at Harvard University, and ice hockey coach at The Hotchkiss School; and
- Katey Stone, head coach for Olympic Team USA in women’s ice hockey and head coach of women’s ice hockey at Harvard University.
The event will be from 4-5:30 p.m. Sunday, at Convent of the Sacred Heart, 1177 King St., Greenwich.
Though “Young Women in Sport” is geared toward middle and high school female athletes, interested coaches, parents, and teammates are welcome to attend.
All coaches are eligible for complimentary tickets, and are asked to email the Young Women in Sport organization .
The regular admission price will be $25.
