Greenwich Superintendent Will Leave At End Of 2017 School Year

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich Public Schools Superintendent William McKersie will not seek renewal of his contract, which expires on June 30, 2017, according to the Greenwich Post.

McKersie, who will stay on through the end of the 2017 school year, said he plans to seek other professional opportunities, according to a statement from Board of Education Chair Laura Erickson. Erickson said that McKersie has made a positive impact in the district over the past four years, according to the Greenwich Post.

The Board of Education said they plan to seek community input as they begin their search for a new superintendent, the Greenwich Post reported. During his tenure, McKersie is credited with bringing stability to the school system as well as developing a strategic plan with personalized learning for students, added the Greenwich Post.
