Greenwich Schools To Remain Closed Thursday, Friday

GREENWICH, Conn. – Greenwich schools will remain closed Thursday and Friday, according to the office of the first selectman.

A further update on the status of school openings will be given Sunday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m.

Greenwich remains in a state of emergency, and residents who evacuated should take extreme caution when returning to their homes. Officials recommend leaving children with a friend or relative while inspecting a home that was evacuated.

If your house experienced tidal flooding or was damaged by a fallen tree and your gas and/or electrical service was shut off by the utility company, your house must be inspected by a Greenwich town inspector to determine if your service can be restored. Once town inspectors have determined that your dwelling is safe for utilities to be restored, the town inspector will notify the utility company that it is approved for restoration.
