Stacy has 30-plus years of experience in human resources, starting with the U.S. Army in 1983. He entered the private sector in 1992, working with companies and school districts in New York state and Connecticut.

He joined the New Britain Consolidated School District in 2005 after having previously worked with school districts in Wappinger Falls, N.Y., and Hartford.

“His experience in public schools, the private sector and the military brings a wealth of knowledge of best practices in human resources. Bob impressed us with his clear priority – a focus on what is best for students – providing the highest-quality teaching and leadership staff possible. We look forward to welcoming him to the Greenwich Public Schools leadership team,” McKersie said in a statement.

Stacy was chosen after a long recruitment process, which included interviews, an initial recruitment pitch, thorough references and background checks.

He has also previously served as an educator with North County Community College in Ticonderoga, N.Y., and holds a B.A. degree in business administration/accounting from Siena College, along with a J.D. in general law from Albany Law School.
