Greenwich Schools On Early Release For Monday

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Students at schools in Greenwich will be on a three-hour early release Monday, Jan. 26, due to an approaching blizzard.

After consultations with town officials, the Emergency Management Operations Center and the Greenwich Police Department, Superintendent of Schools William McKersie will announce the opening status of schools for Tuesday, Jan. 27, by Monday evening.

A Blizzard Warning is in effect from 1 p.m. Monday until midnight Tuesday for Fairfield County with heavy snow expected to fall at a rate of 2 to 4 inches of snow, totaling 20 to 30 inches of snow. Winds of 30 to 40 mph and gusts of 55 to 65 mph in the forecast.
