Dunn will be responsible for the direction, definition and management of all digital and learning information, technology services throughout the school district and its offices. He will also establish strategic plans and standards for digital learning and information services for the Greenwich school district.

"Mr. Dunn has the rare skill set required to lead our Digital Learning Initiative," McKersie said in a statement. "As a former mathematics teacher, Mr. Dunn has proven instructional expertise and has taught a wide range of students."

Dunn comes to Greenwich from Stamford Public Schools, where he served as chief information officer.

Before that, Dunn served as director of strategic analysis for the New York City Board of Education. There he managed project plans for the deployment of a data system, knowledge management portals, and a student information system, as well as various assistive and adaptive technologies.

"Mr. Dunn also has deep knowledge of digital learning and technology systems from both an education and a business perspective," McKersie said. "He has proven in his previous work--and through extensive interviews and reference reviews with GPS leaders--that his skill set produces top results for students and educators."

Dunn received his bachelor's degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., his master's degree from Columbia University in New York City and his law degree from Seton Hall University in Newark, N.J.
