Greenwich School Board Elects New Republican Leader

GREENWICH, Conn. -- After three votes to decide a chairman for the Greenwich Board of Education ended in deadlock, members finally came to a consensus Thursday, Dec. 12, and elected Barbara O'Neill to lead the eight-member board, according to Patch.com.

O'Neill edged out fellow Republican Peter Sherr by a vote of 6-2. If the board had not come to a conclusion by Dec. 21, the Board of Selectmen would have made stepped in to make the decision, Patch.com reported.
