GREENWICH, Conn. - Greenwich High School rising senior Aaron Jaffe was one of just two students selected from more than 200 across the state chosen to attend the American Legion Boys Nation program in Washington, D.C.
At the July 22-29 event, Jaffe was elected by his peers to the position of Senate President Pro Tempore and presided over all Boys Nation Senate sessions during his tenure.
“It was an incredible honor to be elected,” said Jaffe in a press release. “I’m truly humbled by this opportunity and by the support that my fellow senators have given me throughout the election process.”
After defeating 15 other senators during the curse of six rounds of balloting, Jaffe continued in his position until the election of the vice president of Boys Nation later in the week.
One of five Greenwich High School students who participated in Boys State, Jaffe received a $1,000 scholarship from Connecticut American Legion Boys State in recognition of his selection to Boys Nation.
