Greenwich High ranked No. 573 out of 2,000 schools nationwide and 11th-best out of the 35 Connecticut schools on the list.

Schools on the list were ranked on how well they prepare students for college. Determining factors included graduation rate, college acceptance rate, the number of AP, IB or AICE exams taken per student and scores on those exams, and SAT or ACT scores. The list used school-reported data from the 2011-2012 school year.

Other area high schools that made the list include Staples (Westport) at 196; Darien at No. 204; New Canaan at No. 227; Ridgefield at No. 270; Fairfield Ludlowe at No. 691; and Fairfield Warde at No. 973. To see the full list, click here.

Earlier this year, Greenwich was rated 21st in the state and 810th out of over 20,000 schools nationwide by U.S. News & World Report magazine. Staples also made The Washington Post’s 2013 listing of most challenging high schools.
