STAMFORD, Conn. -- Greenwich Education Group has appointed Desiree DelGrosso as the new education supervisor of Links Academy One-to-One Learning program at its 44 Commerce Road campus in Stamford.

DelGrosso received her master's in counseling and personnel services from Fordham University, and she has a bachelor's in psychology from Iona University.

In her new role at GEG, she will be supporting Andrea MacGilpin, the newly appointed director of Links Academy One-to-One Learning.

“We are pleased to have made these two key additions to our Links staff,” said Victoria C. Newman, founder and executive director of Greenwich Education Group. “Links has seen increased demand for its services, and we are confident that Andrea and Desiree will bring new perspectives, experiences, and energy to the One-to-One Learning program.”

Before joining GEG, DelGrosso was middle school assistant principal at the Opportunity Charter School in New York. She contributed to the development of programs to meet the school’s professional development needs; supervised behavioral support teams; served as a teachers’ liaison; and implemented intervention programs for disciplinary issues.

DelGrosso held a variety of other advocacy and counseling positions in the preceding six years, including two years as an academic advocate at the Stamford Academy. She also ran a private college-consulting program. She is a certified yoga instructor and wellness coach.

Founded in 2007, the Links Academy provides accredited, short- or long-term, individualized academic programs for students who are looking to accelerate their learning or are unable to attend traditional school. Typical reasons for attending Links include school anxiety and avoidance, a medical issue keeping the student from classes, a transition between schools, or the need for a flexible schedule because the student may be, for example, an athlete. Since 2010, Links programs have served more than 170 students.
