Greenwich Academy Hosts Student Holiday Concert

GREENWICH, Conn. – Greenwich Academy’s youngest voices performed the holiday concert, “Celebrate With Joy” for students, parents and friends.

Pre-Connecting and Connecting students sang songs of the upcoming December holidays in addition to fall seasonal favorites. Heidi Haskins directed both groups of girls, accompanied by Dianne Ellis in the concerts on Wednesday and Thursday.

They welcomed their guests with “I’m So Glad to Be Here” and “Buenos Dias,” showing their musical and linguistic talents. They sang “Good Day” in six languages. The girls entertained with “Apple on a Stick” and a song about vowels, “Apples and Bananas,” before moving on to Halloween- and Thanksgiving-themed songs.

The end of the concert featured holiday songs, including “Celebrate with Joy,” “Daddy Wouldn’t Buy Me a Bow Wow,” “Oh Hanukkah,” “La Navidad,” “All I want for Christmas (Is My Two Front Teeth),” and “We Wish You A Happy Holiday.” The girls then invited guests to sing along to perennial favorites, “Deck the Halls,” “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town,” and “Jingle Bells.”
