GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Rockefellers, the American family dynasty that founded Standard Oil, has sold off more than 25 acres of the land they own in Greenwich since December, according to CT Post.

The land that was sold is located in the Glenville section of town, but 124 acres still remains under the family's control, according to the report.

William Avery Rockefeller, brother of oil magnate John D. Rockefeller and co-founder of Standard Oil, first bought land in Greenwich for the family in the 1870s. At one point, the Rockefellers owned more than 400 acres in town according to the article.
